Signature Group Coaching Program Creation
If you’ve been doing 1:1 health coaching, have you realized that you keep repeating the same thing to different clients? Why not share it with a group? You can do it by writing, audio or video.
- Better Results: A well-structured group program can deliver better clients results than a 1:1 program. One person would ask a question that the others haven’t thought about. Everyone can learn together and get better results.
- Time Saving: You as a health practitioner can serve a group of clients by doing group coaching calls. If you were to do only 1:1 sessions, you would reach your capacity sooner than you expect.
- Simple Setup: The tech required is simple. It’s simpler than setting up an automated webinar funnel that leads to a self-guided course.
- Scalable Model: As you enroll more clients in your group coaching program, you’ll need help. You can pay a fellow health coach to help you support your clients. This doesn’t have to be a full-time arrangement, it can be on a part-time basis.
- Community Support: Most people don’t have a support group with others who have the same challenges and goals. With a support group, they feel safe knowing that others have the same problems. They’re open to sharing because they don’t feel ashamed in such a group. You can support them and they can support each other too.
Group Coaching Components
Here are the essential group coaching components.
- Group Coaching Calls: You can do that weekly or every 2 weeks. If your program is 12 weeks, you can do weekly calls for the first 4 weeks, followed by every 2 weeks for the rest of the duration.
- Call Recordings: Not everyone can make it to all the calls so you want to record your calls and make the video or audio available to your clients.
- Program Modules: These are some short and simple documents to help your clients implement the tasks that you gave them.
- Support: Your clients will have questions and you want to have a communication system to let them send in their questions for you to answer. It could be a private community app or you can start off with a simple form.
- Addons: At the end of the program, they can choose to pay for ongoing support and access to the community. You could offer lab tests specific to their needs. You could also recommend supplements to help them.
Group Coaching Transition
When you want to go from 1:1 to group coaching, you don’t have to create a brand new curriculum with brand new modules. Take your existing program and offer it as a group program. Now that you’re guiding a group through your modules, make it more structured so that you and your clients can keep on track.
Group Coaching Enrollment
There are 2 approaches to enroll clients into your group coaching program.
- Ongoing Enrollment: You enroll clients anytime you want. You can do this with fewer people in your audience. Your clients will not be starting at the same time but it still works well. The people who are ahead can help those who are new.
- Cohort Enrollment: You enroll a group of clients at the same time. You will need enough people in your audience to do this. Your clients will all start at the same time and they can learn together. You’ll need to plan your launch or campaign ahead of time to make this work.
Let’s have a look at some numbers for a group coaching program.
Per Cohort: 10 Clients x $1,500 = $15,000
3 Cohorts Per Year: 3 x $15,000 = $45,000Per Cohort: 20 Clients x $2,000 = $40,000
3 Cohorts Per Year: 3 x $40,000 = $120,000Hint: Deliver a higher value so you can charge more. Enroll more people as you get more comfortable delivering the group program.
How To Deliver Higher Value For Group Coaching
When someone is considering your signature group coaching program, what exactly are they buying?
People invest money to transform their health. They’re not buying your time or your expertise. All they care about is getting what they want.
Now that you know, you don’t have to add more resources or more coaching calls or even start collecting more certifications. More resources and more calls take up more time. Think about how you can deliver transformational results with the simplest approach.
You as a health coach first need to persuade yourself that your group program can deliver results to your clients and it’s well worth the investment. You’re not taking away money from them, you’re leading them to the results they always wanted.
What About Other Approaches?
I’m sure there are other conventional healthcare (sickcare) solutions but do they even work? Are there long-term side-effects which are worse than the existing symptoms? How much money does it cost?
What if people ignore the problem instead of solving it by joining your group coaching program? How much money would it cost them? Beyond money, what’s the emotional cost?
When you calculate the cost of conventional healthcare (sickcare) solutions or the cost of not solving it, you’ll see the true value of your program! Now, you’re ready to charge a higher price.
